The suburb is located on the eastern express highway. Chunabhatti is a place where the first cotton mill of Mumbai was setup in 1886 by Jamshedji Tata. The location is surrounded by the busiest places of Mumbai such as Sion, Ghatkopar, Bandra, Wadala, Kurla and Chembur.
The locality has some really good quality technical institutes approved by the Indian Government. It is also a very good place to live in. The area also has its own railway station in the harbour line of Mumbai Suburb.
